What is Pony Club?
To quote: "The Mission of Pony Club is to provide a program for youth that teaches riding, mounted sports, the care of horses and ponies, thereby developing responsibility, moral judgement, leadership and self-confidence." I like to think of it as "Scouts for Horses".
USPC is a national organization which uses Standards of Proficiencies as a core curriculum to teach not only riding but horsemanship. Members go and earn a Rating rather than a Ribbon. Not that we don't like to compete, as the the USPC states, it "is unique in that its educational programs place an equal emphasis on the teachings of riding skills, horse care fundamentals and team participation with sportsmanship."
If your child or student has any inclination of doing something vocational or educational with Equine Studies, join Pony Club!
